Born Harikishan Giri Goswami nicknamed Bharat Kumar aka Manoj Kumar the lead actor of the film Upkar was born on 24 th July 1937 in Abbotatabad to H.L.Goswami and Krishna Kumari Goswami. He married Shashi Goswami and has two children. He won Padma Shri in 1992 and Dadasaheb Phalke in 2015. He graduated from Hindu College. He debuted from the film Fashion in 1957. Some of his best works are Gumnaam, Shahed, Upkaar (won him Filmfare and National film Award), Dus Nambari, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan etc. His last project till date was Maidan-E-jung in 1995.
